The Crown was a public house on the corner of Station Street and Hill Street, opposite Birmingham New Street Station. Built in 1881 to the designs of Thomson Plevins. It closed in 2014.
Birmingham Pride 2022 took place over the weekend of the 24th and 25th September 2022. The parade started at Centenary Square and went towards Southside via Victoria Square on 24/09/2022.
Missing Bar is a gay pub on the corner of Hurst Street and Bromsgrove Street in Southside, part of the Gay Village. Formerly the Australian Bar, built in 1897 by James & Lister Lea.
The Village Inn is a gay pub on Hurst Street in Southside, dating to the early 19th century and rebuilt in 1887. It is at the corner of Skinner Lane.
The Fox is a LGBTQ+ bar on Lower Essex Street in the Gay Village / Southside. Has a pool room, DJ's and karaoke nights.
The Fountain Inn is located in Southside at the corner of Kent Street and Wrentham Street. It is now a gay bar within the Gay Village.
The Sly Old Fox is a theatre bar established in 1891 on Hurst Street in Southside (Chinese Quarter). Now next to The Arcadian and opposite the Birmingham Hippodrome.
The Queens Tavern was built from 1894-95 by James & Lister Lea at the corner of Essex Street and Inge Street in Southside. Now a pub in the Gay Village, with several name changes.
Birmingham Open Media is situated at 1 Dudley Street, in Norfolk House. It is close to Birmingham New Street Station. An art gallery with a cafe. Free entry. Opened in 2015.
The Market Hotel (now Comfort Inn) dates to 1883 by Plevins & Norrington. At the corner of Dudley Street and Station Street, opposite Birmingham New Street Station.
The Wellington Hotel is situated at the corner of Bromsgrove Street with Bristol Street in Southside, Birmingham. With origins dating to 1792 / 1818. The pub closed from 2019 to 2021.
The Old Rep Theatre is situated on Station Street in Birmingham and opened in 1913. Founded by Sir Barry Jackson. It was the home of the original Birmingham Repertory Theatre until 1971.
The Electric opened in 1909 on Station Street opposite Birmingham New Street Station, and is believed to be the oldest working cinema in the country. Closed for good end of February 2024?
